Overview:

Robert Speck and the team at Speck Plumbing & Heating have a position available within their small, close-knit team for a fully qualified and experienced Gas Engineer/ Plumber. The individual will be required to undertake boiler installations, fault finding and diagnosis, servicing, breakdowns and repairs + all types of plumbing work.

We required a fully skilled and experienced Heating Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time position that requires expertise in various technical skills with a starting salary of £35,000 (based on experience / knowledge).

What We Provide:

  • Salary: £35,000 – £40,000
  • 40 hours
  • Overtime available
  • Van, van-stock, ladders, FGA, fuel card, and uniform.
  • Overtime opportunities at 1.5x normal rate of pay on weekends.
  • 20 days holiday per year, increasing by 1 days for each year served (up to 25 days).
  • Bank holidays and weekends.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualifications required are CCN1, CEN1, CPA1, WAT1, HTR1, CKR1.
  • 2 Years minimum left on your ACS.
  • You must be enthusiastic, driven and want to advance within our company.
  • A high-level for quality control and attention to detail is a must.

Duties (examples, not limited to):

  • Help with installation of plumbing related work within Bathrooms.
  • All aspects of plumbing (i.e. new pipe work, drainage, taps, pumps etc.)
  • Install, maintain, and repair heating systems, including boilers, oil tanks, heat pumps, and radiators.
  • Perform service inspections and diagnostic tests to identify issues with heating systems.
  • Repair or replace faulty components or parts in heating systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during installation and maintenance procedures.
  • Collaborate with the team to help complete work efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Skills:

  • Commercial driving experience (may be optional).
  • Proficient in plumbing techniques for connecting heating system components.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting if necessary for equipment installation (optional).
  • Some level of joinery skills for constructing support structures for heating systems.
  • Mechanical knowledge to understand systems and diagnose issues.
  • Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements and material quantities.
  • Welding skills for joining metal components as needed.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble system components accurately.
  • Familiarity with power tools used in the installation and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools for various tasks.
