Central Heating – Gas, Oil & LPG
Boilers that suite your existing fuel supply. Most modern gas boilers support hydrogen fuels, future-proofing your home
There are three main types of central heating systems: gas, oil, and LPG. Gas central heating is the most common type of central heating in the UK and Speck Plumbing can provide services to install, maintain and service all 3.
Gas
Without a doubt, gas powered central heating systems is the most popular method of heating homes in the UK. Often enough, homes have a gas supply. It is a clean and an efficient way to heat your home, and it is also relatively cheap compared to other types of central heating systems. Modern boilers, especially combi-boilers, are often labelled as “hydrogen ready” as the UK aims to phase-out natural gas from the UK mains supply much further down the line.
Oil
Oil central heating is another popular type of central heating system in the UK. It is particularly popular in rural areas where there is no access to the gas mains. Oil central heating systems work by heating oil in a boiler, which then heats the water that is circulated around your home. Oil central heating systems are generally more expensive to run than gas central heating systems, but they are still a popular choice for many homeowners.
We’ve been providing our knowledge and experience for oil-fueled heating systems for over 20 years and are always giving advice to our customers on how they can save on their energy costs, improve performance, and upgrade to increase efficiency.
LPG
LPG central heating is a third type of central heating system that is commonly used in the UK. LPG stands for liquefied petroleum gas, and it is a type of gas that is stored in a tank outside your home. These systems work in a similar way to gas central heating systems, but they are powered by LPG instead of natural gas. LPG systems are generally more expensive to run than gas, but they are still a popular choice for many homeowners who do not have access to the gas mains.
